Could it possibly be.......

That I'm organized and on schedule?

NAH! Did get caught up with the CT requirements, still working on the IvyLeaves. I have to admit, to my shame, that I have not been able to get to the spreadsheet I share with Jan. It opens, and promptly closes. No matter which computer I use!  I still need to work out the details of the schedule I want to start following January 5th. (No New Years resolution for me, just an adjustment in time management) Also need to finish decorating the house, put the finishing touches on dinner tomorrow, wrap one more gift and I'm good to go on Christmas. Tree has been up for a couple of days, but that is more to get Perky used to it BEFORE the breakable decorations go in it, but I DO want to get that done tomorrow. Bake the pie, get "slaatje" going, eggs boiled for devilled eggs... you get the idea. No cookies this year. Oven is good for big stuff, but not so great on finicky stuff, plus there is no way in Hades that I can find a cookie sheet tiny enough to fit! LOL.

I found possible family of my moms, while shopping :-) I updated the family tree page, but I am so excited about this I had to tell you :-)
We went to find some shoes for Mike "up north" and were really close to the place that prints the new genealogy magazine I found at the station on one of my trips to my sister. Part of the company is a scrapbooking store (JAY!) and another part is a museum with the editors family-tree information, displayed the way I would LOVE to do ours, so of course I had to check it out. While doing that, I saw that one of the ladies in the pictures had the same last name as my great grandmother on my grandma's side, AND that she could double for pictures I have seen of my grandma when she was young..... So I asked, and the gentleman was going to check if he came across her somewhere and let me know. How cool is that?!

Enough drooling for one day :-) and on to the ct things.
Ann is still on sabbatical, so there's nothing new to play with. I miss playing with her beautiful kits, but I know she needs the peace and quiet, so it's all right.
Booland has a couple of kits out, and some coming, but I'm all caught up, so I will show you what I can....
IvyScraps has new Mini Pixels out, just for a couple more days, and than it's time for the January ones to hit the store, and I need to get going on the Point In Time challenge for January over at The Studio.

Season's Greetings by BooLand Designs

I know if I wait a couple more days, I can show you more, but ...... I had time, and figured I bug you for a bit. Mike is happy for the reprieve! LOL.

I'll probably not sign in again until after Christmas, so I will wish you the best of Holiday Cheer.
Don't forget to hug a loved one?

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!!

Let me begin this post with wishing everybody all the happiness and good health they can handle! LOL

I'm just coming off a 10 day Migraine.... I had gotten all cocky, because I have not HAD a Migraine since my second Chemo treatment a little over 4 years ago, and figured, I must be over it..... I was very happy to forget that someone told me that if you DID have Migraines, or any other chronic pain, it would subside during Chemo, but come back like gangbusters after......... They were right!
The bad ones always used to stew for a couple of days, and by drinking milk, and taking a Tylenol PM at dinner, a lot of times, they got bad, but not so bad that I would have preferred a rootcanal without sedation ...... This one hit out of left field to the point that had I had a closet I fit into, I would have happily hid there. The least little bit of light felt like being poked with a sharp stick and even the usually enticing smell of fresh tea made my stomach turn, let alone trying to eat or drink anything.... with the result, that now that the stomach part is taken care of, I'm constantly searching for food! But besides that, I just feel like a truck took a d-tour and backed up over me a couple of times, before resuming the planned trip. LOL

I have to sit down, and check where I fell down on which job, whether it is fixable, and how to get caught up while keeping up with ongoing things in the meantime. I think we will go without a Christmas tree, or decorated house this year. The tree is still well hidden on top of a cabinet I cannot get to, and I have no idea where the decorations went, because they are not where I thought they were....
Mike will be working up to Christmas eve, as far as I'm aware of anyway, so unless I can find what I want for dinner at our corner shop..... we're having Mac and Cheese, with a chaser of left over Sinterklaas candy for desert......  YAAAAY!!

I AM still working on getting organized, but I think I will have to ask for a grace period from scrapping duties so I can get it right. I know me, and I WILL try and cram everything I should have been doing over the last week or so and that, which I should currently be doing, into the days leading up to, and after Christmas to be done before the 1st.... It may not be possible, and probably isn't healthy, but I have to try and get caught up.

While going thru things in order to get caught up, I DID find a page I made with a kit from BooLandDesigns' called Christmas is not just for Diva's......

I just love the colors of the kit! I'm not done with it yet, either, but I wanted to get you started!

There's a couple of other kits still in the works... You'll love them. Some are due out in a couple of days, one I started on got out while I was snoozing, and 1 is due out around the end of the year.
I'm completely behind on the advent daily download over at the Studio, as well as Boo's blog goodies, but I'm hoping to catch a couple still, before it's done for another year..... I love the bloghops, daily downloads and blog give aways, but I never seem to remember to go by and pick things up! And that is WITH daily reminders on every possible device we have in the house..... Must not be "meant to be"

I don't think I posted these yet, but if I have, sorry :-)  These are an incentive to play the Bingo Game over at Ivy's......

I used Waite For The Moment Designs things only to make these.

Well, as you can tell, the brainpower is running on bare minimum, so if we don't talk before Christmas, have an awesome time?

LOVE AND HUGS FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS

Did you have a good Thanksgiving?

It's just not the same without football LOL

We baked the Pumpkin pie and put the turkey in the crockpot this year. It was very much repeatable. I found the recipe on the SouthernPlate blog........ delicious! I don't think we ever had a turkey this soft. I guess there IS a silver lining to having a micro-mini oven that has a mind of its own! Had we had a normal size, normal acting oven, I might not have tried cooking the turkey in the slowcooker...... :-)

I felt good enough this week to do a little "pre-work" for setting up the tree. I know, I was going to put it up this weekend, but I just couldn't get my head around it, so I will postpone it a couple of days. Mike has to go to work on wednesday, so I may do it than. No harm done if it waits a week either though. Tomorrow we HAVE to do the rest of the Sinterklaas shopping, since we are expected at my sisters house this Sunday. Mike finally found out that he has that sunday off, and he had been putting off shopping, thinking he wouldn't go. (Since he pulled my name in the drawing, I was NOT about to offer to shop for him, so it's all up to Mike for that one! LOL)

I did get a little shopping in over the weekend, and a little scrapping, a little planning, a little cleaning, and more thinking than I wanted to. This flue is giving me the creeps. The last week, I've had nightmare after nightmare about being back on chemo, not able to function, and everybody I come in contact with wanting to do tests and in between I run thru endless white hallways....... I eat every imaginable vitamin we have in the house trying to get rid of this thing, in hopes that the nightmares stop. I hoped keeping busy would help with the cobwebs, but it doesn't..... Anybody have any ideas?

In my urge to get organized, I started moving some of the things from one drive to another, and noticed that in shifting things, the size of files changes. No idea why, or how, just that it does. I also "loose" things from folders, but when I put them side by side, everything is there. This does not make sense to me, and I wonder if it is something in the formatting of the disk. The good thing is, that for most things, I still have the zipfiles, if push comes to shove..... I haven't been able to focus very much, so I haven't gotten very far, but it's a start, no?

I'm not sure if I posted some of these, but I know for a fact some of them are brand new, since I only made them today :-) So, here it goes:

By Over The Fence Designs: THE GREATEST GENERATION

This one I know I already posted, but I love it for so many reasons.......The brothers all served in the US Navy.  The only Kelley "boy" missing is Uncle Keith. He served in the navy during the Korean war. As far as I'm concerned.... He is also part of the Greatest Generation, but the year tags didn't go that far...... I will make another page for him, soon.....

Patty B : TUSCAN DREAMS

Patty B : CLOSE TO YOU
The three ribbed pages are the same paper, once normal, one lightened and one darkened. The top page is the original paper from the kit.

Booland Designs: WISE OLD BIRD

BooLand Designs: LOVELY DAY

That's all for now. Please forgive the whining.... The weather has been very grey, without the fun of winter snow and combining that with not feeling right, has me a little out of sorts. Hopefully, putting up the tree and decorating the house for the holidays will get me out of whichever funk I landed in these last coupe of days.......

Meanwhile, enjoy and hug a loved one :-)

Fun, fun, fun

not really! LOL

Flue Season has come to our house. Anybody that says it's fun to be sick at the same time, is lying, or crazy....... :-) We were constantly trying to figure out who would get up and take care of things. On the up side..... I slept!

Mike only missed part of one day of work, and I feel like such a wimp to have been off my feet for almost a week.... We hope, since we had it at the same time, we won't be passing it back and forth all winter, like last year, and we're done with it. I'm hoping for a good freeze, so I can open up the house, and kill the germs, but so far.... it's been cold and wet, no ice. This flue is a fast acting one though. I went to Eindhoven on Friday, for sisterday and some Sinterklaas shopping, had a little bit of thick feeling in my head on Saturday, and was floored by Saturday evening! Usually, it takes a couple of days to actually come down with it, but not this one.  Mike didn't feel good Friday, stayed pretty much on the couch the rest of the weekend, went to work on Tuesday and Wednesday, got sent home on Thursday because he looked so bad, (should have stayed home on Tuesday and Wednesday as well, if you ask me) went back on Friday, and has been working ever since. Me? I've spend some quality time in bed, only getting up on Friday, for a whopping 6 hours, before my body told me to get back to bed, but today, I'm doing good. Breathing is a little bit iffy at times, but all in all..... I think I got this puppy under control!

I forgot to post a couple of pages, so I'm going to today.

Booland Designs' One Page Wonder #92

Patty B Scraps' Greatest Generation

There's a couple of updates to report on, but I'll do that when I have them all figured out. LOL!  Not sure if I'm not as smart as I used to be, or just over think things, but I can read and understand instructions and such, and for the life of me not remember the important parts a day later..... I think if I could get organized, and on some kind of a schedule, it might help, so I think I will start work on that.

Running around chores will be done tomorrow. We can, because the Commissary is open tomorrow, because they'll be closed Thursday and Friday, Mike will be working Black Friday, I'll be putting up the Christmas tree and from than on, I'll quietly will start working on getting organized, and once I'm done with that, I'll get started on a schedule, and have everything in place by January 1st. That way, I'll have a headstart on my New Years Resolution. LOL

I'm saying goodnight for now. Don't forget to hug a loved one?

It happened overnight......

Somehow I went to bed 51 and woke up 52 this week............ Bummer! Because I don't feel older than about 35ish inside, although my body does not agree with that assessment!  Stop laughing :-)

Besides that little set back, a lot happened since we last talked.

We discovered that going to base for groceries on Saturday is NOT a good idea. Most of the shelves were empty, and if you went by the crowd in the store, you'd say it's Christmas eve, and everybody just discovered that the store is closed tomorrow! LOL It was nuts! Luckily we only needed a couple of odds and ends, so we were out of there in notime. Tomorrow, we will go right at 10, since Mike doesn't want to do the shopping after work, pick up what we missed on the Economy, what we don't get, we'll get at Market when we get home, and hopefully we're done around 1..... We plan on being at the dump by 8 when they open, get rid of the paper, plastic, glass and tins that have been congregating in our "bijkeuken", the little ante room next to the kitchen where the toolbox sits, the pantry resides, and the litter-box finds a place, and the recyclables. I think it's a good thing, don't get me wrong, but having to wash the garbage, because it sits in the house......... nah, I can do without that. Luckily, unlike regular garbage, we don't pay to get rid of recyclables, so that's a good incentive, but still.  I always loved the recycling that was done here. We separated batteries, glass,  paper and even medicine was turned in to the pharmacy so it wouldn't end up in the landfill in the 80's. But I  never thought that I would have to keep it in the house, because they did away with local drop off points. Oh well, one more thing to chalk up to.. "That's the Holland I came back to".

I didn't get to scrap long, but I did get some things done..... I had the Point In Time challenge add done on October 20, and posted it yesterday...... DUH!

Come join us in The Studio

I'm still working thru the One Page Wonders, but couldn't help playing with BooLandDesigs latest kit, called: WISH. It is simply magical in the diversity in elements and papers.

I took part of the included word-art poem as part of the title.

The trees included in the kit, just seemed to beg to be put in the picture!
She also has a couple of really awesome gift-idea kits out... 2014 calendars in 5 different forms!

I can see ALL KINDS of fun uses/gifts for these.... I know I will have one printed out, in individual pages, and put in my dayrunner, to separate the months. The family also has a "secret santa" going on for December 8th...... a neighbor who loves to read..... so who knows?

IVYSCRAPS is having a birthday, with freebies, extra challenges and an all out party mood on the site. Go take a look! I have it on very good authority that there is a whole bragbook to be found........ I saw Download A Day and a Blog-hop also.......... I don't think there was a better time this year to go check out the site.

I joined the avatar and signature challenge: :-)  Haven't started yet, but soon........

Oh, did I tell you that we had another fire in the street last Monday night? Well, we did. Totally opposite the place that saw 2 fires in 24 hours, the place that had the fire on Monday night,  had a big honking spotlight on the house before dark on Tuesday! It is on all night, every night. I sat up till well past witching hour this week, and haven't even seen the people that used to walk their dogs at night.... So maybe the spotlight DOES keep people away.

Mike is off tomorrow, and I think he is planning on staying up tonight, so maybe I can get some sleep before chores tomorrow. BUT, on the upside, if we're done when we hope we're done with the running of errands, we'll have the rest of the weekend to ourselves. (Read, Mike plays the SIMS, Pauli putters around in the computer room. LOL) Sounds like a plan, right?!!

Well, off to make that shoppinglist and start dinner......

Don't forget to hug a loved one!?

I'm soooooo tired......

I haven't slept a full night since Thursday!

To say it has been the week from hell, may be just a tad of an understatement.....
It started Thursday, when the neighborlady came by for coffee, and she looked all frazzled and upset. Before we were even settled with a cup of tea, the story came out that she had a vets appointment with her cockerspaniel that afternoon, and she may not bring him home. He is 13, and there are all kinds of things going wrong, on very short notice, and the vet basically told her not to count on leaving with the dog unless.... but it was not set in stone, so the neighbor was preparing for the worst, with in the back of her head that it all may turn out ok..... That is a very hard way to go! I offered to go with her to the vet, but she declined. When she came home at 7 that night, she was carrying the leash, so we knew what had happened, just nog why it had taken from 2 to 7....... I sat up part of that night, and didn't sleep much after..... Friday she came by again and we talked. Turned out that after the dog was put to sleep she drove it up to the crematorium, about an hour away. I had never heard of that. With Boo, the vet took care of that part, and we got a call to come pick him up. Her experience at the crematorium was a good one though, and it helped her cope, so it's ok.

Sunday, we heard this heart wrenching wailing coming from the downstairs yard but when I looked out, I didn't see anything, so I put my butt back at the breakfast table. After a while, I saw our neighbor looking under cars, and peeking into gardens, so we figured Angel had gotten away from her. After putting her dog to sleep just 3 days earlier, we could only imagine the pain she must have been going thru, so we put on shoes, and jackets (the wind was going at a good clip, coming off the North Sea so it was a LOT colder than the 55 Degrees it said it was) and went downstairs to help her catch up with her little furry roommate..... We spent 5 hours out there, and another 2 later that night, hoping she would come out at dusk, but we never did find her. Until she showed up Tuesday afternoon, in the same yard she literally had fallen into when she fell off the balcony on Sunday. She's ok, although she has something in her eye. The Neighbor said her eye looked like a cracked marble, so we're just hoping for the best right now...... BUT wait..... there's more!

We have a firebug in the neighborhood, and it is scaring the daylights out of me. About 1 am Monday morning, Perky was a particular pest. He just would not take no for an answer, and about 3 minutes later, we found out why, when the fire department stopped right in front of our building with their sirens blasting. Turned out the neighbor across the way that has about 30 feet tall bushes, shielding him from the watching eyes of the old fogies on the second floor, and they were ablaze! I hadn't seen flames that bright, and high since we left brushfire country. It surprised the heck out of us because it has been raining like a banshee for 10 days, so nothing can be dry enough to burn that fast, that hot! As "luck" would have it, we were also right dab smack in the middle of the worst fall storm in a decade, with windgusts up to 35 miles an hour. Doesn't seem much, but if it's flames and cinders going at that rate...... It took them about an hour or so to get it out, and while they were re-rolling their hoses and what have you's we heard..... SMOKE, SMOKE, SMOKE!!! So it started all over. Peace returned about 4.30, so we didn't bother going back to bed.

We had a doctors appointment at 8.30 to see if Mike could do without some of the meds, since we weren't sure why he's taking meds for things that do not get checked, and we told the doctor this. He looked at us dumbfounded, and asked whether we had been doing the follow ups with the cardiologist..... we had, and he looked even more puzzled.  He actually checked his blood pressure, and went thru the blood test information in the file and such, and proceeded to explain WHY he would rather Mike didn't stop any of the meds. That helped a lot. You see, we are the troublesome ones that want to know the why, when we're told to do, or do not, do things LOL. He did say, that the pain in his legs could be from one of the "lesser" impact meds, and that Mike could stop it for 10 days, and if the pain was less, or gone, to give the doc a call, and he would see if there was a good alternative that would not interfere with his diabetic meds.

The rest of Monday, we spent some quality time at the carwash trying (and not succeeding) to get the ash and crud off the paint, we ran our errands for the week, and stayed in after 3 for a leisurely afternoon, dinner, and in light of the half night sleep, turned in earlier than we normally would, only to be woke up by Perky at 3.30 with a chaser of fire truck sirens. The hedge was on fire..... again! Mike had to go to work, so we stayed up and had breakfast.  Around mid day, I got a visit from some of the other neighbors, and they had decided (as we had) that the fires had been set and in preparation, nobody was going to park near the hedge that night, so the firetrucks could get to them, if need be. Also, some of them were going to stay up and keep watch. I had already planned on that, so I just figured, the more people were up, the better chance we got on getting a glimpse of who ever was setting the fires. So....... Mike went to bed early, because of the lost sleep the nights before, and I nestled on the couch with coffee, the I-Pad on very low, and a bowl of snacks to stand watch. Not being able to be on the computer (light, and too far off the window) or watch TV (diverted attention) the night was loooooooooooooong and draaaaaaaaaaging. Did I mention boooooooring? BUT, nothing happened, so I guess we're in the clear. I actually slept last night (5 hours) but Perky kept waking us up around 1 and 3. I think he caught on to the extra attention we gave him while we were up and now he tries to wake us up again. He was down to once, anywhere between 4 and 6, for breakfast. :-)

Mike came home last night, and told me he had to be at work by 6 to go to Spang Dalheim base for a run, so the alarm got set for 4AM..... Im trying to get the house "company ready" before Sunday, a shoppinglist made for both base and the economy, as well as get the laundry done, and a place found for them after its dried and folded. If I was a car, I'd say I was running on Fumes. LOL  The silver lining is that my sister let me know this afternoon, that they won't be here before 2 on Sunday, leaving us a little extra time to hide the clutter, and I can sleep without worrying I won't get the chores done before company comes.

The firetrucks still run a couple of times a night, but not closeby, so we rest a little easier. Although, I have to say, I never used to hear them go by, until now.

Did get some scrapping done over the last week or so. Even with 10 minutes at a time, you can get pages done :-)

I found the text for this online somewhere, or maybe I got it in an email.... I forget. I really like it, and it is so "CAT" I couldn't help but wanting to put it in both Perky's and Boo's album. Putting it in both albums just gives me a second time to play with it!

Made with a kit that Boo took out of the Vault:
Vintage Berries
The cat silhouettes are from aj-cat-font.

Boo's Out Of The Vault kit

For the scrappers..... Don't forget that it is International Scrapbooking Day this Saturday. Lots of sales, specials and freebies, so sleep ahead tomorrow night, stock up on sugar and coffee, and lock the family outside so you don't get distracted :-)

Also, The Hawkeyes are playing the Wisconsin Badgers this weekend. I'm so sorry we can only get the scores after it's all over and we can't watch the games. Not even on the computer. There used to be a way, but I cannot find the TV station that would show them livestreaming. And it's not available on Apple TV, so If anybody out there has an idea, I would sure appreciate the chance to watch them again. It would even be worth being up for at Midnight LOL. (If you can't sleep more than a couple of hours a night, what better way to spend the time than watching football?)

Meanwhile, dinner is ready, I'm tired enough that I may actually get some sleep tonight, so I'll sign off for now.

Don't forget to hug that loved one? Good wishes, and good night :-)

All's well......

You probably are getting tired of the updates, but every time I get the "you're good" results at the hospital, I feel like I could jump over the moon, if my body would only let me! LOL
So..... That's all I'm going to say about that today.

My attention span is back to normal (for me, at least), I have energy to tackle what I left for the last week or so, while worrying, I made plans for after the next check up,(this is a B I G deal!) scheduled things closer to today, and I'm chomping at the bit to get going on the holiday season! I know, I'm so bad, hurrying the year along, when it's going so fast already, but the Holidays is my favorite family time of the year, and I'm trying to get the courage up to tackle the house to get ready for company........ Our holiday season starts with Mikes Birthday, progresses to mine, Thanksgiving, SETTING UP THE CHRISMAS TREE, followed by Sinterklaas and Christmas, to peeter out at the changing of years..... Mike doesn't celebrate his birthday, but he lets me bake a cake for him. We have had that tradition for as long as we've been together..... I bake his birthday cake, and he bakes mine. That's all. Now that we have my family close by, that makes for a little bit different scenario. Mike still doesn't celebrate, and on my birthday... the house is packed!(Not really hard to do, but still....) LOVE THAT!!! One thing I missed in the US, was that nobody will drop by unannounced, not even on your birthday, when they know it's your birthday. Here.... not so much. Even if you invite absolutely nobody, you better have some cookies in the house and your phone better be charged, because if people know it's your birthday... you're having company! :-)

My sister invited us for Thanksgiving. Odd, because it is not celebrated here, but I'll take it anyway I can. We were told, all we have to bring is us and the Turkey....LOL It would be so much fun to show them a new holiday tradition! Mike may have to go to work the next day, and than we would not make the drive, but I'm hoping things will slow down, and after all the weekends he has worked, (and nobody else having to) they'll cut him some slack, and give "Black Friday" to him. Would be nice...... (not holding my breath though)

I am officially off the CT team at Ivy Scraps. Not completely by choice, but more thru circumstances, completely WITHIN my control... LOL.  I took over the Ivy Leaves section. This means, that at the beginning of every month, I go thru the galleries for the challenges, and keep track of who entered, and whether or not they used an Ivy designer. If they did, I give them 3 leaves, if they didn't 1. I add up all leaves per member, make coupons, send them out, hope I did everything right, and if I didn't.... I redo, and apologize profusely!  I'm learning, so the apologizing is getting a little less though....... Besides The Leaves, I've added a friend/designer to my list of CT's.... If things would have stayed the same, it wouldn't have been a problem to do it all, but the duties changed, and something had to give, so I'm still doing the Bingo Pages, extra's if needed (Like for the birthday bash coming up in November!!!!) I just replaced the site CT duties with Waite For The Moment designs and Ivy leaves. Same amount of work but a little more leaway in the "getting it done" part.
Jan has sent me a coupon for things from her store, and I've looked at them, but I've been in such a muddle over my check-up, that that's all I've done sofar...... Planned for next week: Shopping at Ivy, designing pages, scrapping (oh fudge, do I have to!? LOL) and posting..... so keep an eye out for some new "stuff"

Boo, as always, has been busy, but I have not been keeping up. I saw this morning that she has a couple of REALLY cool kits coming out soon, and I DID snag one of them....... She is also taking "old" kits out of the vault, and putting them back in the store for a bit, so if you missed any...... now may be a chance to pick them up!

She has a collab with one of my favorite designers, Linda Cumberland. Its called Autumn Surprise, and I just HAVE to share a page one of the fellow CT's made with it. I absolutely adore the way she put the page together, and I am very much considering scraplifting that puppy!! :-)

Page by ARIADNE

Ann is still gathering peace in a cabin on a lake, and I wish her all the peace she needs. And, for a bit, I won't be scrapping her marvelous kits.... well....... atleast not new ones, but I'm not done with the "old" ones for a long while, so I'm not running out of ideas, yet!

My "Point In Time" challenge over at The Studio, is back on track, I think. Made it 2 months in a row, and I'm working on the one for November, so I think I'm ok there.....

If you want, have time, and think it will be fun to showcase the pets in the family tree.... Come join us. It's still early in the month :-)

Part of my plan to "regroup" is a schedule, and I just noticed, that I'm well into "chore time", but.... I had fun catching you up, meaning I will have to swiffer a little faster, or forget about that until tomorrow......... I'm SO HAPPY I put a catch up day on the schedule! LOL

Don't forget to hug a loved one?
Hugs,
Pauli

Lots done.... more to go!

Is that nog how that goes?
Here it seems to. LOL. The more I get done, the longer the list of "still to get to" gets....... It seems that everything I tackle, has 8 things attached to it, that need doing too.  Anybody have any hints on how to streamline!?

Called the vet to get some relief for our fuzzy roommate. He has licked both his hindlegs hairless, and there are some spots where it has started to bleed. No idea how long he has been working on it, but I don't think it has been very long, because as close as he sticks to us, we would have noticed before it got this bad. Result.... After I'm done here, I'm off to go pick up his cream, which undoubtedly will lead to a wrestling match, with both of us equally greased up. LOL
Vet thinks its an allergy, and asked if we treat him for fleas..... we don't, so we're not sure what it can be attributed to.
The other result will be, that I will wash his bedding, mop the floors with vinegarwater, just in case it's the regular floorcleaner, and keep him inside. If none of this helps, we will have to figure out what else he comes in contact with, that he doesn't always come in contact with..... Quietly, I'm hoping for dry skin because of the weather, but I don't know at this point.

Ann from StarSongStudio is AWOL.... She, husband and pup are enjoying a very much needed time off at her daughters, and as soon as she's rested, refueled and back.... I'll have something to play with in no-time, and subsequently, show you. LOL

Boo has been Boo. Busy as always. I really can't keep up with that girl, so I just quietly plot along. However, I did collect a couple of pages for you to look at......

Surreal:

Combination page CT-LifeBook.
 One Page Wonder #97:

Love the cinnamon colors
 One Page Wonder #96
My favorite picture of mom.
 Reflect:

From dream to reality.

I have no pictures to do the kit justice, so I opted for a poster.

I'm kind of AWOL from Ivy. I no longer am a full fledged CT member, but I (try to) help out Jan, by doing the IvyLeaves (almost done for this month :-)!) and right now, I'm downloading some of her kits, so I can take up my duties as her CT.
So, you'll still see me floating around there, just different ROFL.
AND WE'RE GEARING UP FOR THE BIRTHDAY PARTY AT IVY SCRAPS!!! So stay tuned.

Mike is at work. They only have a couple of days left to clear the building, and than, the move to the main store is complete and final. I already miss the old building, and so does everybody on the team. It was nice, roomy, clean and lively. The mainstore, I don't think has seen a broom since they fired the cleaningcrew last year. It's dingy, cramped, and if I were in charge, I would have moved it into the other building, instead of adding the PXtra to the smaller building.... When I'm waiting for him to get off work now, I have to sit in the car, where as at the other building, I could wait in the breakroom wich was nice in summer AND the winter.... and it means I will have to figure out how to stretch things I need to do on base to fill up his work hours. Definite bummer!  There is a distinct difference in departments too. The parts that came with his crew, are stocked, fronted, organized, no other boxes anywhere but where they are stocking, and, odd as it may sound..... there's people on the floor to ask where to find things! I shouldn't say anything, really, because it IS mikes work and I don't want him to get in trouble, so this is the last you'll hear about it. He started around 6.30, and he should be home nice and early.... I think there's a movie playing on base tonight that he's been wanting to see, meaning we may just boogie out of here for dinner too :-)

Our fuzzy roommate has dissappeared, but the bedroom closetdoor is ajar, so I have a good idea where he went to. That will change as soon as I start lunch, which is, right after I hit publish on this puppy LOL. I was wondering how I could be hungry already, until I noticed that it is almost noon, and I had breakfast at 5 this morning..... Time is flying, and YES! I'm having fun.

Don't forget to hug a loved one, enjoy whatever weather you're having and I will bug you later, hopefully with more pages, an empty to-do list and plans for tomorrow, so I can tell you "I'm all caught up!"      Stop laughing! It could happen.....

Hugs,
Pauli

Perky is a south-paw!

No kidding.
Don't know what made me pay attention, but the other day I was wondering whether animals favor a side. I know horses do, because some are just a bearcat to turn one way, while they're smooth as silk going the other. LOL I figured it's a muscle thing, and was wondering, since Perky uses his paws like we use our hands, if the same held true for him. (I know, my mind works in mysterious ways, right?)
Anywho.... I started watching Perky going about his business of opening cabinets, swatting at Eeks (his "pet" mouse with catnip) his rabbit (with a catnip pouch) and his stick of dynamite (the only explosive is Perky when he plays with it, since its a solid block of catnip ROFL) and he always starts out with his left paw and reaches for them coming down with his left paw too. He only uses his right if his left can't reach. It's funny to watch him open the door, because he just hooks his claws around the corner, and pulls, but always the left one...... Even  unlocking the deadbolt he does left "handed"..... Now, reading this back, it sounds like we have a little dopefiend fuzzy roommate, but he really only plays with one of them at a time, and most of the time, they're all in a cabinet, in a plastic bag..... so he doesn't stumble thru the house like a stoner. Honestly! LOL. We've seen him high on medicines after he ate the Easter Lily, and we don't want that to happen, just for fun, so you can rest easy.

So, now that I have that little bit of useless information out of my system.....
Have you been playing at the studio last month? I have, a little, and it was fun! And there's another party in the works over at Ivy Scraps next month! WHOOHOO!!! Can't wait :-)

I forgot to post a couple of pages, so I'll catch you up real quick, and than I'll start on the Ivy Leaves proces. I'm starting to realize first hand how much work goes into running our playgrounds, so it runs seamless, and I have a renewed respect for all that Jan, Toiny and Rebecca do to keep everything running smooth, so all we have to do is park our hineys and play! :-)

THANK YOU LADY'S FOR ALL YOU DO!!

Truly
I don't know what I have been busy with, I just know that these 2 have been sitting, ready to go, without a picture, for about a month. I thought I would post them as QP, but wasn't sure that was the right thing to do, so I found pictures for them, finally.
The picture of Perky, my cousin took while visiting. NOW I can see the difference between a nice SLR digital, and my little point and shoot. Even with the bells and whistles, it does most things very well, but I can't take pictures like this, without washing out the details, somehow.
The lower picture was taken at the Terra Cotta Warrior exhibit. I thought it was kind of interesting to see the pieces of the clay figures, as well as the whole figurines.

Now, I thought I had more lay outs I hadn't shared, but I cannot put my grubby little hands on them right now, so I'll have to save them for a later date.

For me, it's off to "work" now, so I can make a couple of people happy with a coupon, and Jan for not getting a headache this month from people asking where the coupons are. LOL!

Don't forget to hug that loved one?

Pauli

YeeHa!

I get to play a little, but my brain is not really "with it" LOL
Been busy, with life things, mind things and friend things. On their own, none take a whole bunch of energy, together..... I'm wiped! So here is a quick rundown.....
It seems like I've been running for a month, but it really only has been a week.
I'm in need of some sleep in longer increments than 3 hours at time and I'm way behind on my scrapping.
I signed up at The Studio for the photo contest, but don't have the energy to find the picture I want to use. Thought I had a really cool picture of a spiderweb with dew drops on them, only to find out that all you see is background, and the spiderweb completely dissappears...... so no entry there.
The LayOutArtist challenge I did enter. but something went wrong with the shadows, and I don't know how to fix it..... They look ok on the computer, but when I post the page in the gallery, the shadows are soooooo dark and wide, it wipes out the page completely. Since it is now 2AM, and the pages have to be posted at the studio and 2 more places before midnight EST..... I don't have time/energy to figure it out, so they're going "as is".
Here are they. The Bear page has the problem in the gallery, but here it looks like it does on the computer.......

For this page I used elements from DBB, Feli, LGrif, BLD and JanetB. Papers were by: Studio4, LGrif and NS

the kit is the Collab for September You Make Me Happy and can be found here at the studiohttp://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...ducts_id=23106

For this page I used elements from LTH, Feli, LLC, BLD and Aveziur. Paper by: Loucee and overlay by LLC

the kit is the Collab for September You Make Me Happy and can be found here at the studiohttp://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...ducts_id=23106

Played on Ancestry a little last weekend.... found some cool stuff including another ancestor of Mike's that was part of the Civil War. Every time I think that I have all the veterans, another one pops up in an unexpected corner. At a reburial after the second spouse died, the fact that he was a Civil War veteran was not added to the information. Not in the paperwork, reburial papers, or with a Star, so we never knew.... Now we do. He served in the PA Army.  Still can't find part (read most) of my paper familytree, and lost the computer-tree a long time ago, so it's really not even fun to go look for stuff although I can't help it, but those unexpected bits of information are still cool to find. I added it to the information to add to the tree, and meanwhile keep plugging away on finding that one box that will have all the information I so dearly want to get to.  I'm starting to get worried though. I swear there ARE no boxes I haven't at least opened twice, but I haven't come across it yet

Well, I'm starting to really make no sense, so I'm going to say "good night" for now, post the pages in the last gallery, and call it good. I'm sure I'll miss something, and get "disqualified" but so be it :-)

Don't forget to hug a loved one?
Hugs,
Pauli

I think I'm caught up

with all my required things, except the house chores ROFL!

The Birthday Bash at The Studio is in full swing. The Lay Out Contest, designer challenge and I believe the photo challenge, have public voting, so if you have time... go look at the galleries and vote for your favorite? If you don't want to vote, go look anyway. There are some amazing things to see!

Personal challenge update:
- I started on the scavenger hunt, but haven't added anything since my last post.

Mike and I went for a walk the other day. We needed out of the house for a bit, so we went to the Brunssumer Heide. It's about 10 minutes from the house, so it wasn't an all day thing, but we managed to get about an hour of fresh air into our system inbetween the rains. The heather has been blooming, and I finally got to go see it. I always loved the fields of purplishpink, but never seem to be able to catch it at its peak LOL. It is so funny though. If you look at the total picture..... the blooming heather shows as purple, but if you get closer, and look at the individual flowers... they're bright pink...

- The Photo Contest was all about fall colors, or at least Color, so...... This is the picture I posted for the Photo Contest:

- The Lay Out Contest is interesting. The kit to be used is Holiday Hoopla, and the assignment is to make 2 pages. One holiday themed, one absolutely not, and one needed a photo treatment done to at least one of the pictures......

Boo has a couple of new kits coming out, and I can actually show you one of them already......
Its not out at The Studio yet, but it IS in the Scrap Book Bytes store: It's called Rainfall.
We've had a good deal of that in the last 10 days or so. The geese have gone south already, and the leaves are starting to turn. Rumor has it, that we are in for a heck of a winter. IF that is correct, I can make new snow pictures LOL. But I'm getting ahead of myself.....

The Kit can be found here

Memory Keepers is out at The Studio. I absolutely love the kit. I think it will see A LOT of use in the family tree pages........

everything is from the kit only

everything is from the extra's.

I think you're "up to date" with these postings. And since it's almost time to get up, I think I will go to bed for a little while. The mechanical alarm goes off at 5 (Mike has an early day) and when the fuzzy alarm will go off is anybody's guess. In all probability, it should go off any minute LOL.

Don't forget to hug that loved one! :-)

Love and hugs,
Pauli

Happy BIrthday Digital Scrapbooking Studio!

THAT'S where I've been!  Partying.... Yup! That's me......

First challenge was to update and dress up the avatar. So I did. It now looks like this:

Than, I failed to sign up for the LayOut Artist contest.... Came to the realization on Wednesday or Thursday, that I hadn't seen the post in my mailbox, stating which kit to use, and what the challenge was to be......... so, put it on the calendar to sign up for week 2, and almost blew that out of the water too, but I got it done in time, and I'm busily thinking what to do about it.

I was dead set on participating in the photographers challenge, but couldn't for the life of me not figure out what the heck BOKE stood for, how to achieve it or what the end result should look like, so I decided I'd give week 2 a chance..... Still have to check that out.

Signed up to play CLUE :-) Waiting for the instructions on that one.
Trying to go thru the store for the scavenger hunt......

Getting the urge to join in with all the fun? Come on over to The Studio

And, besides playing around in the studio shop/gallery, I got some scrapping done, some planning and a whole bunch of napping. Have not been feeling right, am starting to freak out about my check up in October. Not sure if I want it to go quicker, or not, but I'm worried.  Had some pains I just as soon want to forget, but shouldn't ignore.... Hope it is still "getting back to normal" things. Saying prayers for everything to be "right" every night, but it doesn't stop the nightmares, so I'm trying to sleep as little as possible, which is also not really a healthy responds, but what do you do?

AND I got some scrapping done. Boo is back from vacation, and sent out a couple of kits, so I'm playing around with those. We're working on some stuff for the birthdaybash over at IvyScraps in October, I'm working on my scheduled CT-things  AND I'm trying to set up some kind of schedule, balancing, fun, job-hunt and chores around Mikes very erratic work schedule......... So I'm having fun, I think.... LOL

Well, I can't show you any of the pages yet, but as soon as I get the OK, you'll see them appear.

For now,  go check out The Studio, hug a loved one, and I'll talk to you soon.

Hugs,
Pauli

couple more posts

and than I can call it a habit, right? LOL

It's a quicky, for a couple of reasons....
1) I don't have a whole lot to report
2) I'm actually watching the Iowa game online!   GO HAWKS!!!!!

The kit I was telling you about, that Boo has coming out?
It's out!  It's called Memory Maker and I think a lot of it, is going to find its way into my lifebook pages.

Here's the page I have all the way done. It's the "add" for the Point in Time heritage challenge over at the studio. I can't believe I actually have this done, before even the challenge threat is up! ROFL.
The others are waiting on me to find the right picture.......

Have a great weekend, and don't forget to hug that loved one!?

Hugs,
Pauli

Twice in one week.....

Could I possibly be back on some kind of schedule? LOL
We'll see in a week or 2 if I'm still sorted.

Ann has her new kit released. Remember, the one I was all excited about?
It's called  DOGTALES.  Since we don't have a dog, and I never got 'round to taking pictures of Whisper......... I used the next best thing. No, not Perky. That would just be odd ROFL!
I used my teddybear collection :-)
I didn't realize Perky was part of the scene when I took the picture. It was kind of a hard time for me, (they couldn't come to Holland with us, and we gave them to the Childrens' Hospital) and I was mostly concerned with getting all of them in frame, which didn't quite work, so I'm missing a couple of the fuzzies..... It was a good cause, and they were very happy to get such a stash, but it took me 20 years, and a lot of trips and special occasions to  get them all together........

I DO love the kit though!

so here is an overview of what I couldn't fit on the page....

working on a page for Boo, that is sooooo right up  my alley ;-)
I think it is due to come out tomorrow, so I'll be back with it, as soon as it hits the stores.

I promised Mike I would have the house picked up a bit. I'm going thru boxes, so I can thin out things a little, before we move again. No plans yet, but I  KNOW it's coming, so I might as well get ahead of the game, right? The upside is that I combined 3 boxes and 2 bags into a little over 2 boxes. The downside is....... I need to do something with the box, and the left overs before I forget what is what, and combine them again........ (Wouldn't be the first time, so why take the chance)
He's having a short day today, and will be home at 4...... They're almost done redoing the store, and than, hopefully we'll have a little better handle on his hours and days work/off. Until than, he tells me at night how early/late he has to work :-)

It's time to take the cat for a walk and finish up when I get back.
Don't forget to hug a loved one!

Hugs,
Pauli
